GEORGE’S MINI-BIO
So you wanna know a little about me? Okay.
My home base is Chicago although I’m a proud Connecticut Yankee at heart.
I started performing at Davenport’s Piano Bar and Cabaret in 1999. In 2016, I began spending my summers performing at The Front Porch Piano Bar & Restaurant in beautiful Ogunquit, Maine. I’ve recently expanded my perform schedule there to include foliage season.
I’m on the adjunct faculty at the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) at Roosevelt University where I am an accompanist and musical director.
Humble brag: I’m an award-winning composer/lyricist. My musicals Queen Lucia (2007) and Northanger Abbey (2017) won Joseph Jefferson awards (The Chicago Tonys) for Outstanding New Musical. My most recent musical The House without a Christmas was nominated for Best New Work, 2025.
I have also written over a dozen family musicals including The Emperor’s Groovy New Threads; Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile; Mister Popper’s Penguins and five musicals based on the Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type book series. They all premiered at Lifeline Theatre in Chicago and have been produced across the country and internationally. My musical Arnie the Doughnut was performed at the New York Musical Festival (NYMF) in 2012.
My musical Loki at the End of the World, a rock musical based on Norse mythology, had a staged workshop at the Chicago College of Performing Arts the spring of 2023. The show will make its premiere at Lifeline Theatre in the spring of 2026.
